Q1. Can I buy the colour from you and colour my hair at home?
A1. Unfortunately, no. The contractual agreement to purchase and supply these colours is for professional in-salon use only. Even if we sell these products to a mobile hairdresser we would breach our contract. If it were possible to sell them to you we would not recommend it. Professional or even good hair colouring takes 4 years of training, study and EXPERIENCE. Every week some one comes in to BASE 1 needing a colour correction because they wanted to save time or money by doing their hair at home. Unfortunately it often results in costing more of both when something goes wrong.
Q2. Do your organic hair colours last as long and give you the variety that traditional professional hair colours can?
A2. YES, and the entire range has the added bonus of being even more gentle on your hair wiht greater shine and fade resistance that chemical colours would envy.
Q3. Can organic products be used over the older chemical colours, or used to change my existing colour?
A3. Yes they can. In nearly every case the only time we wont do it is if you have to much damage from previous chemical treatments.
Q4. My scalp gets blistered or itchy from colouring and bleaching does farouk do this?
A4. We have never had any ones scalp blister while using our colour, although some people experience a mild itching or tingling, it is rare.
Q5. I suffer from a hyper sensitivity disorder can you guarantee I wont react to your products?
A5. No, we cant guarantee however we can to a preliminary patch test with a small amount of colour behind your ear or on your wrist. this eliminates nearly all possibility of reaction if the test is successful. in the case of a reaction being present (and we currently service 2 clients for this requirement) we can use a protective barrier cream on your scalp, foil your hair to process the colour away from your scalp and even use a streaking cap. we recommend using a combination of barrier cream and foils.
Q6. Do organic colours cost a lot more like organic groceries do?
A6. Not for you, the do cost us a lot more than some of the cheaper chemical brands and we still get you first class hairdressing yo9u'd expect to find in the city at a competitive price!
Q7. Does it take longer than a chemical colour, henna can take hours?
A7. No Some of our colours process in similar times while most process in 5 - 15 minutes less.
Q8. Normal colours make my eyes water or irritate my sinus do yours?
A8 Not likely we have had no such reaction from farouk colours it is usually the fumes emitted by chemical colours that cause this, ours release no toxic or noxious fumes.
Is is safe for me to colour my hair if I'm pregnant?
you can colour your hair safely with farouk products and supposedly you can with a normal colour how ever there has been no evidence or documented study either way. It is ultimately your choice while your pregnant jus like every health choice for an expecting mum. we have more detail in our pregnancy section and MSDS, the choice is yours.
